How to prevent prostate cancer: 9 practical tips

If you are unsure whether or not to take early cancer screening tests and need to treat your inflamed prostate because it has taken your sleep away, stay with me.

Today, I booked this space to present you 9 practical tips to protect your master gland (and, amazingly, the touch exam is not on the list).

What is the PSA exam for prostate cancer and when to do it?

The PSA (Prostatic Specific Antigen) test for the prostate, in fact, is not the problem, but what is done with the information it can bring and what to do next. If the mangoes to the urologist, who asks for the PSA, and this value is higher than what is considered normal … then the problem can start. Especially if the holder of the altered exam is not well-advised by the chosen professional.

Imagine a man over 60 who goes to the general practitioner, whose PSA test is above the reference values, which must be less than 4. There is a great possibility that this doctor will refer the patient to the urologist for biopsy and, being over 60, there is still a great possibility that the biopsy will show cancer. It is quite possible, then, that the urologist recommends surgery, which may lead to incontinence or impotence in the postoperative period.

What needs to be clear is that each case is different. But it is already a consensus among a large part of the experts that these invasive procedures should not be indicated – automatically and unquestionably – just because the PSA is high.

So if you have high PSA, think carefully before taking the next step. And my suggestion is that you repeat the exam and ask your doctor to order PCA3, 4K, and 3D color Doppler of the prostate. This is essential before starting the treatment protocol because men can become impotent or incontinent, and start complaining, regretful.

How do you maintain your prostate?

The most important thing to remember is that the exam only detects it. Prevention is another thing. And if your focus is on shielding your gland, I have a prescription.

These are my 9 anti-cancer steps.

They also disinfect your gland if you have been diagnosed with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) – which, if you haven’t heard of it before, is an inflammation that has nothing to do with prostate cancer.

1. Consuming vegetables and red foods

Consume lots of cruciferous vegetables and red fruits. Vegetables such as cauliflower and broccoli have anti-cancer properties. They contain a type of sulforaphane, a highly protective agent of cancer, and reducing the risk of malignancy. Red fruits, like tomatoes and watermelons, are rich in lycopene, which also has anticancer properties recognized by science.

2. Pumpkin seed oil supplementation

Pumpkin seed oil can relieve frequent urination, one among the most symptoms of an enlarged prostate. In one study, researchers tested pumpkin seed oil on patients aged 55 to 79 years. After six weeks, there was a discount within the frequency with which they needed to use the toilet by almost 40%.

3. Having an active sex life

Having sex regularly is vital to your prostate health.

4. Know the beta-sitosterol

Beta-sitosterol is a potent antioxidant that reduces inflammation and improves blood flow. It is a natural fat of vegetable origin, with proven therapeutic action.
In a meta-analysis of 63 clinical trials, it had been rated together of the foremost effective treatments for urinary flow and prostate health. It acts by protecting the cell membranes of the prostate. this enables it to function normally again.

The best sources of beta-sitosterol are avocados, pistachios, macadamia nuts and almonds. The literature recommends a minimum of 300 mg per day.

5. Omega 3 supplementation

Supplement omega 3 of animal origin, without toxic metals and reduce the consumption of omega 6, present in hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated vegetable oils.

6. Get a good night’s sleep

Get enough hours of sleep, about 8 hours.

7. Avoid statins

According to studies, statins are correlated with an increase in prostate cancer.

8. Saw palmetto supplementation

To be effective, saw palmetto must be a reliable source, in the therapeutic dosage of 320 mg of oil per day. This is the ideal way to ingest it, because in the powder form there is less concentration of the product.

9. Consume ginger

Include ginger in your shopping list. It has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant action. Studies also show anticancer property.
